LG Nexus 5 (2015) leak

Corroborating a previous report from a Korean media source, a report from Cnet claims that Google will be holding an event in San Francisco to unveil two new Nexus smartphones on Sept. 29.

The company had last held an event to unveil the Nexus 7 back in 2013. Since then, the company has unveiled new Nexus devices without holding any special events.

Google will be unveiling two new Nexus handsets this year: one with a 5.2-inch screen from LG and another with a 5.7-inch from Huawei. The devices will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

The report from Cnet does not reveal the specs of the device, but if a report from late last month is anything to go by, the new Nexus from LG will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM, a 2,700mAh battery, and a 12.3MP rear camera. The handset had also leaked in some live pictures last month. The specs of the Huawei made Nexus device remain unknown for now, though the device has also leaked in some live pictures.
