While it was originally thought to be Google Fit, but then changed to Google Play Fitness, it turns out the first rumors were right on target, as Google has officially unveiled Google Fit.
At Google I/O, Google officially unveiled what’s being called Google Fit, which is a platform for wearables and applications to work on Google’s platform to collect fitness and health information, and use wearables/accessories for users to gather that information in real-time. It’s just another tool that manufacturers and companies are using to focus on health for consumers.
There are partners like Nike that will include Nike+ and their Fuel points into Google Fit, with other partners falling in line as well.
