Android Wear 2.0

For anyone that was hoping Android Wear 2.0 would be launching by the end of 2016, Google has come forward with some bad news.

Google has tried to soften the blow just a bit, at least for developers, by releasing the Android Wear 2.0 Developer Preview 3. The new addition within this latest developer preview is the inclusion of Google Play, which allows for the browsing of apps on the Android Wear watch itself. The ability to uninstall apps, switch accounts, and also the ability to install an app just on the wearable.

However, the bad news is this: Android Wear 2.0 has been delayed into 2017. The original plan was to see 2.0 released this fall, but Google didn’t reveal a final date at the time. The preview program will continue into next year, but there isn’t a final date circled on a calendar just yet.
