Why trust Greenbot
A New Yorker by the name of Nicholas Allegra made headlines in 2011 when he hacked Apple’s iPhone. By hack I mean he made it easy for people to jailbreak the device and tweak it to their heart’s content. More often than not people jailbreak their iPhones to install pirated applications, but I’m not going to touch that subject.
“Comex”, Allegra’s online handle, was 19 back then, and his skills earned him a job at Apple, probably to fix security bugs. According to Forbes, he was recently let go. Not because he was a bad employee, but because he failed to respond to an email about extending his employment. That’s obviously one side of the story, and we’ll likely never know the other half.
So what’s he going to do now? He tweeted that he’s going to become a Google intern in the next few weeks. I can only guess as to what his responsibilities will be, but I’m thinking they’ll be related to Chrome and Chrome OS. Comex says he’s not too interested in Android because he simply doesn’t like the OS.
Fair enough; here’s hoping Google can put his talent to good use.
