Some updates are big, and come with a plethora of new features. Others, though, just add a little and that’s all they need. For the Google Camera app, it’s all about bringing together Android devices, which now includes Android Wear.
The update is small enough, with only three new features listed. Two of those may be a welcomed addition to those who use the Google Camera app frequently. You’ll now be able to select between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. Additionally, the big button is now optional (though, some reviews are stating some issues with this particular feature, so keep that in mind). There are also new wide angle and fisheye lenses that you can use to spice things up.
Finally, the big part of the update. Google Camera now features a Remote Shutter feature that allows you to use an Android Wear-based wearable, so either the LG G Watch or Samsung Gear Live at this point, to snap a photo. You can’t use it for anything else, like a viewfinder, but you will be able to see a preview of the image you took on the wearable, and watch the countdown to the impending photo.
The latest update brings Google Camera up to version 2.2.024. It’s available in the Google Play Store through the source link below, and it’s a free app.
