Last month at I/O, Google had announced that it was teaming up with Samsung to integrate the latter’s KNOX enterprise solution to Android. Today, Google has provided more details about the KNOX integration in Android L and how it will help Enterprise and IT users.

Samsung has been a leader in the enterprise security solution, which is why Google went with their solution (KNOX) to accelerate Android’s adoption rate in the enterprise market.

All the new enterprise related APIs in Android L have been developed by Google and Samsung around three major concepts: Device and Data security, Support for IT policies and restrictions and mobile management application.

In a nutshell, these APIs and policies will allow users to keep their personal and work related app data completely separate from each other. Third-party Enterprise Mobility Managements (EMM) can use the new APIs to enforce a wider range of policies right down to system settings and application settings across a bunch of devices and more.

If you are in the IT department of your company or want to know more about how these new policies will benefit enterprise users further, definitely check out the full post from Google here.
