Google today announced that it is expanding the capabilities of Google Assistant by adding support for over 50 new games and activities for families and kids. The company had first given a sneak peek into these features at its Made by Google event on October 4.

Thanks to Family Link, parents will also be able to allow their under 13 kids to launch these games and activities on Google Home.

The new games that Google Assistant now supports include classics like musical chairs, trivia games, freeze dance, tell a story, and more. Your kid can even ask Google Home/Assistant “who his favorite Justice League hero is?” or to “play Mickey Mouse Adventure.” And since Google Assistant/Home can distinguish between voices, its response will also be customised depending on the person asking the question.

Google Assistant will now also be able to help your kids with their homework giving you some time off from your parental duties.

Google hopes that these features will bring parents and kids closer and make them spend more time with each other. All these new features will be available on Google Home as well as on Android devices.

With the addition of these new features, Google Assistant is the only smart assistant in the market to cater to needs of parents and kids. Amazon’s Alexa might feature integration with third-party services but it does not have enough tricks up its sleeve to keep your kids happy.
