Google Now Launcher

For the devices out there that aren’t running Android 5.0 Lollipop, and according to Google that’s quite a few right now, at least making a phone look like it’s running the newest version of Android is good enough.

Luckily for anyone running the Google Now Launcher, the app’s latest update adds plenty of tweaks to make it looks like Android 5.0 Lollipop is installed on the handset of choice. It’s a small tweak, of course, but enough that it should offer at least a bit of a hold on the wait that many Android users are probably feeling. Google also updated Google Now, which means that the feature will have a more Material Design-esque look, while the Google search bar should be white, along with the app tray’s background.

Other tweaks include a slide-out panel for Google Now, and a boost to overall animation while switching between home pages and apps.

The update was released not too long ago, so many Android 4.4 and later devices may have already received it by now.
