Power consumption is a big issue for a lot of devices all over the world, as battery technology is still lagging far behind the power and technology in our smartphones. But thanks to Google, that could be changing in a big way for Android.
Announced at Google I/O today, Google officially unveiled Project Volta. This is a major move from the people behind Project Butter, and other projects at Google, to help battery life with a major focus while you’re actually using it.
New features like Battery Historian, which allows a whole new depth of battery level and usage stats, which should make it easier to find what’s killing your battery in a daily basis. You will also be able to set your devices up to download application updates when your gadget is plugged into a power source.
More to come…
