It is no secret that Google has been hard at work to solve the lag issues associated with Android. With three versions of Jelly Bean and Project Butter, Google was able to bring Android to near iOS like performance.

However, there is still a bit of work left to be done and Google is hard at work on fixing that. This time, instead of a new Project, the company has purchased a French firm, FlexyCore, known for releasing DroidBooster a few years ago. DroidBooster helped in increasing the Java code execution on Android devices while taking less CPU cycles.

According to L’Express, Google has purchased FlexyCore for $23.1 million and, apparently, has even integrated them with the core Android team in Mountain View. Google says that FlexyCore will “help optimize the performance of (Android) on mobile devices.”

The acquisition process had been going on since last year and was closed in early October. It will be interesting to see if we will be see the fruits of this acquisition from Google in Android 4.4 KitKat.
