Google today confirmed that it has identified a fix for Bluetooth randomly switching off for Pixel owners running the latest February security build of Nougat on their devices.

Post the February security patch released at the beginning of the month, many Pixel and Pixel XL owners complained about Bluetooth randomly switching off on their phone after some period of inactivity or after a reboot. The issue was widespread and was not linked to any application or system settings.

Orrin, Pixel community manager over at Google’s product forums, confirmed that the company has found a fix for the issue thanks to the bug reports that were submitted. The fix will be rolled out in a future software update — likely with the March security patch.

The Pixels suffered from Bluetooth issues when they first launched, but Google managed to fix the problem with the Android 7.1.1 update. While Google inadvertently managed to introduce some Bluetooth issues again on the phone, it is nice to see the company working on quickly getting around to acknowledging and fixing them as well.
