It was only yesterday that HTC sent out invites to a March 25th press event where the company’s second-generation One flagship will be unveiled, and now notorious industry leakster evleaks has conjured up an official press image of the device from his extremely resourceful pool of sources.
The image shows off the gold color version of the handset, which has a design extremely similar to the One. The front has HTC’s now-trademark dual front speakers (no doubt with BoomSound technology) and of course the company’s logo, while the back includes dual cameras and dual-color LED flash, which will hopefully be put to good use in the imaging department. We’re also seeing on-screen navigation keys on the device for the first time, which replace HTC’s existing non-intuitive two-button setup, a fact that will be especially appreciated by pure Android aficionados.
The leaked render unfortunately doesn’t reveal what the 2014 One will be named. evleaks has hinted at “All New One” being the official title, but we’re hoping the forces of common sense prevail and cause the Taiwanese manufacturer to reconsider what is one of the most important factors for any smartphone.
Update: @evleaks has followed up on the Gold HTC One image with a dark grey one, and it looks sexy.
