Despite the fact that a consumer version of Google Glass is still at least 12 months away from shipping, Google just loves to tease people. Their latest video, which clocks in at 68 seconds, demos how to use the touch pad located on the side of the device.

Now I thought Glass would be more gesture driven, with head turning, head bobbing, and other such head motions that would make one look mentally disturbed, so I’m quite happy to see that Google is emphasizing the use of a touch pad for common controls. No one will look at you weird if you tap the side of your head.

I’m still not convinced that the world needs glass, but then again I said the same thing about Apple’s iPad and tablets in general. Look how wrong I was. This will be a fun space to watch evolve.
