Quick Settings in Android is already a great alternative to iOS 7’s Control center. Depending on your Android device, you can control almost any aspect of your phone or tablet via this pane, unlike in iOS 7 which is limited to a few toggles. Thanks to Android openness though, you can replicate the Control Center of iOS 7 pretty easily, if you feel like. Read the guide below to find out how.
Step 1: Head over to the Play Store and download Quick Control Panel. The app acts as an advanced version of Control Center and allows you to customise the toggles displayed by it as well.
Step 2: There are two ways to launch Quick Control: If your Android device comes with on-screen navigation keys, you can swipe up from the home button to activate it . Otherwise if it sports hardware navigation buttons, you can setup an area right at the bottom of the screen from where swiping up will activate Quick Control.
Depending on your device, head over to the Launch settings in Quick Control panel and select the appropriate option. For devices with on-screen navigation buttons, I will suggest users turn off the swipe detector option.
Step 3: You can manually select all the toggles, app shortcuts and music controls you would like to see in Quick Control from the appropriate section of its Settings menu. If you feel like it, you can also switch the order of the panels or disable them altogether as well.
Step 4: Once you have set up everything in a manner you like, trigger Quick Control Panel by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. You can dismiss it by swiping down from the top or by pressing the back button after using it.
The only issue with Quick Control is that it is not translucent like the control center in iOS 7. The app, however, lets you play around with its colour combinations so make sure to let your creativity flow.
If Quick Control Panel doesn’t appeal to you with its card-like design and you’re hoping for more similarities with iOS, make sure to check Control Center, iControl and iOS Control Center-QuickToggle.
