Gboard 6.5 beta

Google has updated Gboard beta on Android to version 6.5. The update is significant as it introduces a new stickers tab with support for Bitmoji and others. The update also comes with some adjustments to the ‘Themes’ section of the app.

Stickers support is currently limited to Bitmoji right now, although Google will soon let you import pictures from apps like Google Allo. Bitmoji can be downloaded from the Google Play Store to create your custom avatars.

The new stickers pane will appear on the bottom of the keyboard next to the emoji tab or you can simply access it from the overflow menu.

Google has slightly redesigned the Shift and Backspace keys on the keyboard. The themes section has also received some minor UI tweaks. Meanwhile, Google has removed add-on dictionaries from the Dictionaries tab.

Gboard is one of the best Android keyboards available in the market right now. The keyboard recently added voice typing support for 30 new languages.

The addition of Bitmoji will go a long way in enhancing the overall user experience. The Gboard 6.5 update is still in beta right now, so you won’t be able to get it unless you are subscribed as a beta tester. The app should be available for the general public in the coming weeks.

Update: Support for Bitmoji and stickers has now made it to the stable version of Gboard 6.5 on the Play Store.
