A couple of live images of the upcoming 10.5 inch AMOLED tablet from Samsung have leaked out. Known as the Galaxy Tab S, the tablet is also supposed to launch in an 8.4 inch model. This will be the first time since 2011 that Samsung launches a tablet with an AMOLED display, so it’s quite a significant device for the manufacturer.
The live images don’t exactly reveal the nature of the display as it has to be experienced firsthand, but the Magazine UI that we saw on the Galaxy Tab Pro and Note Pro tablets in January is still there. The back of the tablet is revealed to have a perforated pattern much like the Galaxy S5, which confirms the authenticity of this leak. There’s a camera and flash on the back as well, so it seems like Samsung has covered all its bases with this new offering.
The tablet is expected to feature a 10.5 inch 2560 x 1600 resolution AMOLED display, an octa core Exynos 5420 chipset, an 8-megapixel camera sensor on the back, 4G LTE support and Android 4.4 KitKat with the Samsung Magazine UX. Considering that the device is making its way into leaks already, we’re expecting the announcement to take place in the coming weeks.
