Samsung’s 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab 3 is … how should I put this? It’s an incredibly unattractive product. It costs about the same as an iPad, but it has a screen that pushes 1280 x 800 pixels, it uses an Intel chip, and it has just 1 GB of RAM. Truth be told, if you buy the 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab 3, I feel bad for you.
According to a User Agent Profile found on Samsung’s servers, however, Samsung is working on a new 10.1 inch tablet that has a 2560 x 1600 pixel screen and it’s powered by an ARM chip. Now I know what you’re thinking, why not just buy the Nexus 10? True as that might be, the Nexus 10 does have some limitations. You can’t buy it everywhere, and there isn’t a version that supports cellular connectivity.
So when will this elusive 10.1 inch “flagship” Samsung tablet be announced? That I don’t know, but if I had to speculate, I’d say we might see something at IFA in Berlin this coming September. Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note III there, so it might not be a stretch to see them also announce this tablet as well.
