Samsung has started rolling out a new update for the Galaxy S6 in Europe that reportedly fixes the poor RAM management present in the current firmware of the handset.

The official changelog of the 138MB update says that it is mainly targeted at improving the performance of the device. Galaxy S6 owners on Vodafone UK who have already received the update say that it does make the handset feel a wee bit snapper and seems to have fixed the poor RAM management issue.

Galaxy S6 receving a firmware update in Europe

The initial Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge firmware suffer from poor RAM management issues that frequently lead to apps being unloaded from memory thereby greatly slowing the device down after a period of time and just overall making it feel sluggish. Samsung had acknowledged the issue on its Facebook page and said that it would be soon rolling out micro updates to fix the problem.

At the moment, it is unclear when the update will be rolled out to other regions of the world, but it should not be long now.
