Samsung seems to have started rolling out the Android 5.1.1 update for the T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy S6 edge.

One member of the XDA forum has received the update on his handset, which seems to have made the device even snappier. Sadly, the update also locks down the bootloader on the handset that will make gaining root access on it tougher for developer and advanced users. (https://www.greenbot.com)

Other notable change present in the update include Guest mode and some minor visual changes. Hopefully, the update will also help in improving the battery life of the handset.

The update seems to have been compiled by Samsung yesterday (i.e. on April 28) itself, so it is very strange to see Samsung and T-Mobile rollout the update so soon.

It is entirely possible that the XDA member received the update accidentally with the final rollout from T-Mobile and Samsung still a few weeks away. After all, even Google has not yet updated most of its Nexus devices to Android 5.1.1, which makes it even more unlikely for Samsung to update the Galaxy S6 edge to the latest version of Lollipop so soon.
