Keeping an eye out for any kind of update can give us an idea of when new software, or just tweaks to the software we’re already using, is heading to devices all over the world. Today, the unlocked variant of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S5 is reportedly receiving an update that should make owners pretty happy.

According to a report from Android Central, the European unlocked version of Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is set to receive not just one update, but actually two small software upgrades that are meant to address the handset’s performance. Specifically, to improve it.

The first update is the sizable one, measured in at 194MB. The second is only 1MB, so it shouldn’t take you too long to finish up. When it’s all said and done, though, you’ll still be on Android 4.4.2, but the performance of your device should hopefully see some kind of boost. (insider-gaming.com) The firmware version will see an uptick to XXU1ANG2.

With any type of software update that’s issued over the air, the rollout will take some time, so if you haven’t received the update quite yet, stay tuned — you should get it soon. And once you do, be sure to let us know what you think of the changes.
