The lack of 6GB RAM on the Galaxy Note 7 has seemingly left a number of potential buyers disappointed. This was despite numerous rumours mentioning the possibility of the device coming with 6GB RAM, given that many Chinese OEM’s are already offering this option in their devices.

With companies like Xiaomi and OnePlus offering 6GB of RAM in their flagship devices, it seemed logical that an industry leader like Samsung would offer the same on the Galaxy Note 7. Now, it looks like Samsung will be launching an ‘upgraded’ variant of the Galaxy Note 7 in China with 6GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The device has already passed through Chinese certification authority TENNA, so it is definitely real.

The launch of a 6GB RAM variant of the Galaxy Note 7 is going to disappoint a lot of international Note 7 customers. However, it is likely that Samsung had to take this move after considering how sensitive the Chinese market is to specifications. And it is not like the inclusion of 6GB RAM will provide any significant boost in performance. Samsung has, thankfully, optimised Touchwiz enough this year to ensure that it is less resource hungry than before.

Are you bummed that Samsung is only going to launch a 6GB RAM variant of the Note 7 in China?
