Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 7, which will make its official debut later today, will go on sale in India on August 11. The device is expected to make its debut in the U.S. and Europe a little earlier, but India won’t have its usual month-long delay.
“In India, Samsung’s flagships usually take a month to arrive after their official announcement,” notes SamMobile. “But consumers in the country won’t have to wait so long for the Note 7 as Samsung has confirmed the phablet will launch in India on August 11th.”
That means India has just over one week to wait until the Note 7 goes on sale locally. It’s still unclear how much the new phablet will cost yet, but pricing for the Galaxy Note 5 wasn’t too bad last year. The Note 7 will have lots of new features that could push it up slightly, though.
According to recent leaks, the Note 7 will pack a curved glass display, a water-resistant form factor, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM, expandable storage, and the same stellar camera found in the Galaxy S7 series.
The device is also expected to introduce some new features, including an iris scanner that will allow users to unlock their device simply by looking at it. The beloved S Pen stylus will also return with new Air Command features baked into TouchWiz.
