While Galaxy Note 4 owners continue to wait for their Android 5.0 Lollipop update, it is already reaching the Galaxy Note 3 in numerous markets. The update is now reaching handsets in India, just hours after rolling out to users on T-Mobile in the U.S.
This software comes with the version number “N900XXUEBOB2,” and is available both over-the-air and through Samsung’s KIES application for Mac and PC, SamMobile reports.
If you haven’t already received an update notification, you can search for the release manually via the software updates section in the Settings app. Alternatively, if you don’t want to wait, you can download the firmware from SamMobile and upgrade your device manually through Odin.
This release includes everything you would expect to see from a Lollipop update, including new features like Smart Lock, lock screen notifications, improved multitasking, and a redesigned notifications panel. It also overhauls a number of Samsung’s own apps, and brings significant performance and battery life improvements.
Lollipop for the Note 3 has already reached a number of other markets, including the U.S. and Russia.
Meanwhile, those who have upgraded to the Note 4 are still waiting for theirs; the software briefly appeared in Poland and Germany around a month ago, but was then pulled by Samsung for unknown reasons and is yet to reappear.
