The Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which has already launched in multiple countries all over the world, is going to hit America’s shores this Friday courtesy of AT&T for a cool $299 and a two-year contract. The 5.7 inch phablet is the first phone to feature a USB 3.0 port, the first phone to feature 3 GB of RAM, and while it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, there are plenty of people out there who love jumbo phones, myself included.

Now all that being said, should you buy the Note 3 or wait for something else? We all know that the LG made Nexus 5 is going to be announced at some point within the next 30 days. It’ll probably end up costing about half the price of the Note 3 off contract, and it’ll have a Snapdragon 800 processor and 1080p screen. Plus, it’s going to run Android 4.4 out of the box, and whenever Google pushes out a software update, you’ll be first in line to get said update.

Circling back to the other American operators, Verizon customers will have to wait until October 10th, and T-Mobile customers will actually get the phone a bit earlier than AT&T customers, on October 2nd. If you’re a Sprint, do yourself a favor and switch.
