The Galaxy M40 is among the very few mid-rangers from Samsung to feature a Snapdragon chip. What this also means is that one can use a modded Google Camera (GCam) APK on the Galaxy M40 to extract even better performance from the phone’s triple rear cameras.
The Galaxy M40 packs a versatile triple camera setup which includes a 16MP f/1.7 primary shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide angle shooter. However, the image quality is nothing to write about, with the Redmi Note 7 Pro’s 48MP shooter being able to capture better photos.
With the help of the modded Google Camera (GCam) though, there’s a respectable and noticeable jump in the quality of photos captured by the Galaxy M40. Interested in knowing how to install the modded GCam APK on the Galaxy M40? Follow the steps below.

Install Modded Gcam (Google Camera) APK on Samsung Galaxy M40
Step 1: Download and install this modded GCam APK on your Galaxy M40.
Step 2: Open the app from the app drawer and proceed to give it the necessary permissions.
That’s about it. You can now proceed to shoot photos using the Google Camera app.
Not all is perfect with using the modded Google Camera APK on the Galaxy M40 though. Firstly, you are going to be limited to clicking pictures in 8MP resolution despite the fact that the Galaxy M40 comes with a 32MP rear camera. Secondly, the modded GCam app does not support the 8MP ultra-wide-angle photos meaning you cannot take photos with it.
The good thing is that photos taken from the modded Google Camera on the Galaxy M40 have better colors, contrast, details, and dynamic range. Additionally, the Night Sight mode in the Google Camera app also works just fine on the Galaxy M40. The difference is pretty massive and I would strongly recommend every Galaxy M40 owner to simply use the modded Gcam app.
