At this point of time, it is confirmed that Samsung will be launching a new smart watch – Galaxy Gear – along with the Note III at its IFA event on September 4. Limited information has been available about this new smart watch from Samsung until today.

Thanks to a couple of leaks, we now have the full spec sheet of the Galaxy Gear along with the screenshots of its Android companion app. According to AmongTech, the Galaxy Gear will sport a 2.5-inch OLED display with 320×320 resolution, with 10 hours of on-screen time. While the battery life may seem disappointing, Samsung might include some kind of power saving mode on the Gear that will automatically switch off the display to save battery life.

Other specs of the Galaxy Gear, which sound dubious to me, includes 1GB of RAM, 6 or 8GB of storage capacity, and a 4MP camera capable of recording videos in 720p resolution. A camera on a smart watch is ringing my bullshit meter pretty strongly. Earlier today, some screenshots of the companion app of the Galaxy Gear had leaked as well.

The Galaxy Gear will be unveiled at IFA, which is scheduled to begin next week on the fourth day of September.
