According to an article published on SamMobile in early April, Samsung is working on a third generation Galaxy Ace called the GT-S7272. The site said the device will have a 4 inch screen, dual core processor, and a 5 megapixel camera. About two weeks later, that very same model GS-S7272 model number showed up in the GLBenchmark. There we learned the processor would be clocked at 1 GHz and the screen would be capable of putting out 800 x 480 pixels.
Now, thanks to the Dutch site MobiLeaks, we have two more unique pieces of information. The first being a device known as the GT-S7272 showing up on the Bluetooth SIG. And the second being a User Agent Profile on Samsung’s own servers for the GT-S7272.
The original SamMobile story said the Ace III would be announced either in week 22 or week 23. That means anywhere between May 27th and June 9th. This coincides rather well with the story from earlier this morning about the Galaxy S4 Mini launching in early June.
Should you care about the Ace III? Yes and no. It’s going to have roughly the same specs as the GS3 Mini, though chances are it’ll use a cheaper display and other corners will be cut. It’s obviously impossible to have an opinion about a device you can’t see, but what’s really going to make or break this phone is the price.
