In August of this year, Fossil showed off its future Android Wear-based smartwatch at an Intel event, due to having Intel chips inside its casing.
Unfortunately at the time, Fossil wasn’t ready to talk about the watch, its price, availability, or even the specifications. Some of that is changing now, though, as Fossil has officially announced the Q Founder (and the Q family of watches), which runs Android Wear in a very distinct look that offers familiar Fossil design aesthetics, but packs the smarts of Android Wear under the hood.
The Q Founder features a full touchscreen on an obviously round display, but just how big that screen is remains unknown. It’s also not known what powers the device, what kind of memory is installed, or how big the battery is. We do know it will cost $275, though. As far as a launch date goes, there’s nothing pegged down officially, but Fossil says it will be in time for the holiday season.
It looks like the Q Founder will be offered with a metal band, but also a leather strap. It would probably be easy to guess that the watch will have easily exchangeable straps.
What do you think of the Q Founder?
