On August 9, Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Note 9, its newest flagship phablet device.
It turns out, the company may have even more to announce at the event. According to a new report from 9to5Google, Samsung may have pegged down an exclusive launch of the ridiculously popular battle royale game, Fortnite. The publication has information gathered from an unnamed source, which states that the game’s launch will have a 30-day exclusive window with the Galaxy Note 9, at which point it will become available to more Android devices after that.
The report indicates that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9, and then the company will open pre-orders for the device on August 14. On August 24 the device is reportedly going to go up for sale, so if that is indeed the case, Fortnite for Android will launch on August 24 — but only for the Galaxy Note 9.
30 days after that, it will be available to download on other Android devices. Of course, there is no telling which handsets will be supported, as Epic hasn’t announced anything yet.
If you pre-order the Galaxy Note 9, the report indicates that customers will get $100-$150 worth of V-Bucks in-game currency as a pre-order bonus, once the game goes live. V-Bucks are the in-game currency used to buy new characters, emotes, gliders, and more.
Nothing is confirmed just yet, but this would be a big win for Samsung. Are you excited to play Fortnite on your device when it becomes available?
