Samsung has started rolling out the first software update for the international variant of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge that improves the palm rejection feature on the handsets. Additional, the update also introduces a new shape correction feature in “skewed photos” that aims to correct shape distortion in them.

The improved palm rejection feature should be a welcomed by all Galaxy S7 edge owners, as it will make using the phone one-handed easier. The shape correction option is tucked inside the Camera settings, and right now, it is unclear how effective it is.

Whether the update also fixes any other bugs or improves the battery life of the handset is something that only time will tell.

The 156MB update is being rolled out in Nordic countries for now, though I’d expect Samsung to start a wider rollout within the next couple of weeks.

Have you received this update on your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge? If yes, have you noticed any other improvements? Do drop in a comment and let us know about it.
