It has been rumored since quite sometime now that Nvidia is working on a new Android tablet powered by its upcoming 64-bit Tegra K1 chip, and targeted specifically towards gamers.
Thanks to @evleaks now, we get to have our first look at the tablet.
From the leaked render shown above, it is clear that the SHIELD tablet from Nvidia would be sporting front-facing stereo speakers with the front camera tucked right in the middle of the top speaker. The display seems to be bigger than 7-inches but its exact size is not yet known.
The design of the tablet clearly matches up with the Tegra K1 prototypes that Nvidia demoed earlier this year, which gives further credence to this leak.
The render also shows a dedicated store for games, probably the Tegra Zone app, running on the tablet with games optimized for controller being listed under a separate category.
The upcoming Nexus 8 tablet from HTC and Google is also expected to be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra K1 chip and sport front-facing speakers. While the renders of both these tablets might seem identical, the Nexus tablet is expected to sport a 4:3 aspect ratio display like the iPad.
