HTC Nexus model numbers FCC

Word on the street for some time now has been that HTC was called upon by Google to build not just one, but two new Nexus smartphones.

And while there has been the obvious speculation on whether this was true or not, there have been plenty of leaks over the weeks that have suggested HTC is indeed the manufacturer of choice this year. Now, Droid-Life has discovered recent FCC filings that show two new Nexus smartphones have passed through the regulatory agency, and that, yes, both are manufactured by HTC.

The FCC filings don’t reveal any huge spoilers here, save for the fact that HTC is making both of them, but we also learn the handsets offer support for LTE networks from Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint, so universal support is available right out of the box. More than that, the FCC filings give us model numbers for both devices, too: G-2PW4100 for the bigger model, speculation asserts, while model number G-2PW2100 is believed to be a designation for the smaller variant.

While the FCC filings are not a treasure trove of viable information regarding the upcoming handsets, it is at least worth knowing that HTC is the manufacturer bringing both smartphones to life later this year.

Do you plan on picking up a new Nexus smartphone this year? Are you a fan of the expected design?
