Fast charging not working on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+? Blame Samsung. A number of Galaxy S8 owners across the globe are complaining about fast charging and wireless fast charging not working properly on their device.
The features seemingly stopped working after a recent software update from Samsung. While fast charging is not working for a majority of users, the broken wireless fast charging issue affects only a limited number of users. Apparently, the latter set of users complain are also complaining about the display of their Galaxy S8 randomly turning on/off when placed on the wireless charger.

The issue with wired fast charging seems to be present irrespective of whether one charges their Galaxy S8 with the bundled stock charger or a third-party one, while the fast wireless charging issue seems to occur only with third-party chargers.
Samsung is yet to acknowledge the issue but considering how widespread it is, it is likely that a recent software update from the Korean company borked the fast charging functionality.
Considering the beefy batteries that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ come with, they can take a fair bit longer when charged without fast charging. Thus, it is understandable why many Galaxy S8 owners are frustrated with the sudden lack of fast charging on their devices.
