Once a third-party Twitter client reaches the 100k token limit set by Twitter, it almost becomes impossible for the developer to earn money through it. Due to this limitation from Twitter, many decent Twitter clients for Android were abandoned by their developer.

One such Twitter client for Android was Falcon Pro. While the developer continued updating the app for sometime after it hit the 100k limit, he almost completely abandoned it a few months down the line.

Now, months after Falcon Pro became extinct, developer Joaquim Verges has released a brand new version of the app on the Google Play Store.

The developer is not offering Falcon Pro 3 as an upgrade over the existing app and has instead released it as a separate app. This was a neccessary step since Falcon Pro had already hit its token limit, which meant that the new app could only be used by existing users of the app.

On the positive side, Falcon Pro 3 comes with a great new Material Design inspired UI that makes it worth the price. A quick feature list of the app is below:

  • Column base navigation Anything from your timeline to a search to a specific user can be added as a column. If you’re a fan of Tweetdeck like me, you’re going to love this.

  • Position holding per column, with a new visual unread indicator

  • Multi-account Inbox in side drawer, shows your mentions, RT, Favs and new follows.

  • Tweet from multiple accounts at the same time.

  • Performances This bad boy is fast.

  • Animations Activity transitions for Android 5.0 Lollipop.

  • Elegant, Polished, Dark Material design

While the app does lack a lot of other basic functionalities, including DM support and a Settings menu, the developer has promised to add them quickly over the next few updates.

While Falcon Pro 3 is free to download from Google Play, users will have to pay $3.99 to login with their Twitter credentials. The app also supports multiple accounts that can be unlocked by through an additional IAP of $1.99.
