Does anyone here remember Facebook Home? Boy did it receive a ton of press coverage, but ultimately no one really liked it. What was Home? A replacement launcher that turned your Android phone into a portal for everything Facebook. That’s pretty much it. Now it wasn’t all bad, some people were really into the lock screen that came with Home. Put simply, every time you went to unlock your device, you’d see a photo from one of your friends. You could like it, comment on it, or swipe to see another photo.
That features, the Facebook Home lock screen, has now been added to the Facebook app for Android. Good luck trying to find the settings pane where you can turn that feature on. Sure, you can I can do it, but your parents? Fuggedaboutit.
In related news, Facebook Home has also added support for a handful of new devices: the Nexus 4 and the GS4 from Samsung. And if you install Facebook Messanger, which you’re required to do if you install Home, then Chatheads will work on the HTC Wildfire and the Samsung Galaxy Y.
