Due to higher taxes, strained government relations, and a multitude of other factors, technology ends up costing more in Europe than in the United States. This isn’t something new, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the new Nexus 7 will cost a good $60 more in the UK than the US. The real question, however, is why Google doesn’t have a European Play Store? Right now the search giant deals with countries on an individual basis, which kind of makes the point of a European “union” a bit useless, no?
