Huawei unveiled EMUI 10 earlier this month for almost all of its popular devices. Based on Android 10, EMUI 10 comes with a cleaner UI/UX and offers a number of new features. However, Huawei’s announcement did not really provide us with a clear look at EMUI 10. A new video now shows EMUI 10 based on Android 10 running on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
The video gives us our clearest look at EMUI 10 and the UI changes that it brings to the table. Compared to EMUI 9, EMUI 10 definitely has a cleaner and more modern look and feel. The new Quick Settings toggles are definitely reminiscent of Samsung’s One UI and will aid one-handed use on phones with large displays like the Mate 20 Pro.
The new Settings menu is also much cleaner and better categorized. The default Phone app has also received some improvements, though it is nothing major. The notification shade also has a notably cleaner look and feel.
The new Dark mode in EMUI 10 has been implemented in a much better manner when compared to the one found in EMUI 9.
Apart from such UI/UX improvements, EMUI 10 also brings a number of performance improvements with Huawei claiming up to 10% faster app loading times.
Overall, EMUI 10 seems to add a level of polish which EMUI sorely needed. What’s impressive is that Huawei already has beta builds of EMUI 10 based on Android 10/Q floating around. The company will release the first beta of EMUI 10 for the Huawei P30 series from early next month. It is also slated to unveil the Kirin 990 chip that will make its way inside the Mate 30 series at IFA scheduled to be held in the first week of September.
