Steve H a.k.a. @OnLeaks on Twitter has leaked the renders of the Samsung Galaxy S9, which is expected to be announced in February next year. It’s still too early to tell if these leaks will materialize, but it’s worth mentioning that OnLeaks was spot on with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ leaks earlier this year, thus giving some credence to this particular leak as well.

The design of this alleged Galaxy S9 render appears to be in line with what we’ve come to expect from Samsung, although the fingerprint scanner has been slightly repositioned, allowing for easier access. The Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 have fingerprint scanners placed right next to the camera. But these renders suggest that the sensor will be placed right below the camera instead, which is an interesting choice.

What’s odd, however, is that the phone appears to be packing a single camera lens on the back. Given how Samsung switched to dual-cameras with the Galaxy Note 8, it was largely speculated that the company would use this as the benchmark for future flagships. The leak, however, claims that the dual-camera will be reserved for the larger Galaxy S9+ variant, much like Apple does with its standard and Plus flagships.

There are still some questions left to be answered about the next big thing from Samsung, and we’re hoping to find out more in the weeks to come.
