Google has just released the first developer preview of Android N for a bunch of Nexus devices and one Android One smartphone. Keep in mind that installing the developer preview below requires your Nexus device to have an unlocked bootloader. It will also wipe the device clean of all data, so make sure to take a backup before proceeding with the installation steps.
The list of devices for which Google has released the first developer preview of Android N are as follows:
- Nexus 5X
- Nexus 6
- Nexus 6P
- Nexus 9
- Nexus Player
- Pixel C
To download the Android N developer preview, simply head over to this page, click on your device name, and then accept the terms and conditions for the download to begin.
Sadly, older Nexus devices like the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2013) are likely not to get the Android N update, so Google has not released a developer preview build of it. However, don’t take our word for it until Google itself makes an official announcement regarding this.
