Hot on the heels of releasing factory images for Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, Google has now started rolling out the Android 5.0.2 OTA updates for Nexus 7.
Here’s what we know about the improvements in Android 5.0.2 so far:
- It fixes a bug with TRIM support, which prevented devices from the nightly on-charger cleanups of file system allocations if the device was turned off while being charged, or if it was charged during the day
- It also changes how alarms wake the CPU, and how alarms compete for system resources
Since OTA updates are rolled out in a phased manner, they can take more than a month to be pushed to your device. If you don’t want to wait then you can sideload the OTA. Simply download the OTA packages from below and follow our update guide to install Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on your device.
