Android 5.0 Lollipop

Google has just released the factory image of Android 5.0.2 for Lollipop for the Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi.Google had released the new version to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) on December 20th, and also released the factory image for Android 5.0.2 the Nexus 7 (2012) Wi-Fi. The build number (LRX22G) for the Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi is the same as the one released last month.

Here’s what we know about the improvements in Android 5.0.2 so far:

  • It fixes a bug with TRIM support, which prevented devices from the nightly on-charger cleanups of file system allocations if the device was turned off while being charged, or if it was charged during the day
  • It also changes how alarms wake the CPU, and how alarms compete for system resources

The OTA rollout of the update is yet to begin, but you can always manually flash the factory image.
