Cyanogen and Boxer today announced a partnership that will see the latter’s app being shipped as the default email client on Cyanogen OS 12.

The app will be a part of the Cyanogen OS 12 update, which is expected to be released in the coming weeks, for the OnePlus One and the Yu Yureka. It will also be shipping in all future devices that will ship with Cyanogen OS.

“The level of customization with the Boxer-powered Email app gives users more choice and customization features when it comes to managing their email, tasks, and host of productivity features. Our partnership with Boxer brings a number of enhanced inbox features that our users will find very compelling.” – David Herman, VP of Product, Cyanogen Inc.

To better match the look of Cyanogen OS 12, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, Boxer has given its app a major revamp with a fresh new look and powerful new features. Some of the customization features present in the app include the ability to assign different notification LED colors for email notifications for different accounts, customizing the left and right swipe action on an email, and integration with apps like Evernote, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive and others.
