Things seem to be getting worse for Cyanogen Inc. After reports of the company laying off 20 percent of its workforce and pivoting to apps, Android Police now reports that the company is now laying off more employees.Cyanogen Inc. is offering some of its employees with the option to move to one of its smaller offices in Palo Alto.

The company is also shutting down its office in Seattle by the end of this year. At this point, the future of the company is itself in doubts.

The sources of the publication say that Steve Kondik a.k.a Cyanogen himself and the co-founder of the company was removed from its board last month. His role was reduced to ‘Chief Science Officer’, but it was never clear what his new position required him to do. It is possible that Steve could be removed from the company or his role in its working could be further reduced. The same managerial shakeup saw Kirt McMaster, the CEO of Cyanogen Inc, move to a new ‘Executive Chairman’ role. He was replaced by Lior Tal who was the COO of the company back then.

Steve Kondik has already made it clear that despite what happens to Cyanogen Inc, the future of its popular open source custom ROM CyanogenMod is safe and secure. The latter is mostly developed by Android enthusiasts and developers who work on it in their free time for fun and passion.
