To better differentiate between CyanogenMod and Cyanogen OS, the CM team bundles a few exclusive apps with the latter. While CyanogenMod is an open-source custom ROM, the latter is a closed source ROM that is pre-installed on phones like the OnePlus One, ZUK Z1, YU Yureka, and other devices.
Starting from today though, the CM team is making all the apps found in Cyanogen OS available for CM12.1 users. Dubbed Cyanogen Apps Package or C-Apps, the package includes the following apps:
- AudioFX
- Cyanogen Accounts
- Gallery
- Dialer with TrueCaller integration
- Email powered by Boxer
- Theme store
- Theme Chooser with per-app theming
While AudioFX and Theme Chooser are already built into CyanogenMod, the apps found in CyanogenOS have a better UI with more features.
The package is compatible only with the very latest version of CyanogenMod 12.1, though it should work just fine on other ROMs based on CM sources as well.
The process to install the package is similar to how one installs the Google Apps package: simply transfer the ZIP file to the internal storage of the device, boot it into TWRP recovery, and then flash the ZIP file.
