You love Android, you love bleeding edge hardware, but you hate big phones, what do you do? It’s sad to say this, but you simply have to put up with mid-range devices. Last week, at IFA, Sony announced a gorgeous 5.0 inch flagship phone called the Xperia Z1 that has everything but the kitchen sink inside. I’m talking Snapdragon 800, 2GB of RAM, 20.7 MP camera, but again, it’s big.
There are rumors that a smaller version called the Z1 mini is going to come out, and many people, myself included, thought Sony would announce it alongside its bigger cousin, but the latest leaks seem to suggest the Z1 mini is a 2014 product. According to the website XperiaGuide, the Z1 mini will be unveiled at CES 2014. They even have a photo of the device pictured next to the big Z1, and it looks absolutely tiny.
What sort of specs will the Z1 mini have? Again, same specs as the Z1, except for the screen size and battery. The screen is rumored to measure 4.3 inches diagonally and push 720p, and the battery is supposed to be shaved down to 2400 mAh.
January sounds far away, but it’s not. Just one quarter.
