The AOKP team is not the only one that provided an update about their Android 4.3 and 4.4 builds. The CyanogenMod team has also provided an update on their plans about CM10.2 and CM11, based on Android 4.4 KitKat. 

At the beginning of this month, the CM team released the first Milestone build of CM10.2, based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The team has since then been taking in bug reports over at their JIRA, and after they have squashed all the bugs and incorporated all the patches that were not ready in time for the M2 build, will roll out the first RC build for CM10.2. If things go according to the plan, a stable and final CM10.2 build should follow right after.

Regarding CM11 and Android 4.4 KitKat, the CyanogenMod team has first set some of the facts straight. While Google may have optimized KitKat for 512MB RAM devices, it does not mean that suddenly older devices like the Motorola DROID or the Nexus One would be supported in CM11. Google’s target with KitKat were the Chinese OEMs, who were releasing low-end devices based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and not to suddenly bring the older generation of Android devices to life.

Currently, the CM team does not have a list of devices that would be getting support for CM11. Sadly, the team does suggest that since support for OMAP is lacking, devices using that SoC might not be supported in CM11.

For us flashaholics out there, some device maintainers from the CM team have released unofficial CM11 builds to get feedback from users on stability, performance and the latest merged features etc. Official nightlies are expected to roll out by the end of this month.
