The Chrome team over at Google today excitedly announce the release of Chrome 47 for Android. The latest version of the browser comes with a “barge load of performance and stability fixes.”

While the change log from Google does not mention anything, the update also introduces the ability to show splash screens for web apps launched from your app drawer of homescreen. This feature was added to the browser in one of its beta releases in late October. A full git change log of the update can be found here.

The update has not yet gone live on Google Play yet, but it should be a matter of just hours now before a certain percentage of Android users start seeing the update on their devices.
