A couple of days ago, ZTE unveiled its latest flagship for 2014 — the Grand S II. The company, however, did not provide any pictures or other information about the device except stating that it would come with always-on voice control feature like the Moto X.

Today, the company has revealed more information of the handset via a god-awful press release that only contains one picture of the handset. The ZTE Grand S II packs in all the ingredients necessary for a early-2014 flagship, including a 2.3GHz Snapdragon S800 processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, a 5.5-inch 1080p display and 2GB of RAM.

Other specs of the S II include an LTE radio, a 13MP shooter at the back, a 2MP front-facing camera, 16GB of inbuilt storage and a 3000 mAh non-removable battery.

“We pulled out all of the stops with the Grand S II; we built upon the success of the original Grand S, and added the latest high-performance hardware and features, including voice control,” said Mr. Zeng Xuezhong, EVP and Head of the Mobile Devices Division, ZTE. “We developed this technology internally and feel that it represents a significant leap forward in man-machine interaction. The Grand S II will be the first of many ZTE products that will demonstrate our innovation in this area.”

However, the highlight of the Grand S II is its always-on voice recognition feature, as seen on the Moto X. The voice processor in the S II is able to recognise between multiple voices and also allows users to snap photos and carry out other tasks via voice commands.

The My-drive feature in the handset has been optimised for much more accurate and quicker voice recognition so as to reduce distractions while driving. The handset also includes a host of audio features including triple-MIC noise for higher quality and clearly calls, Dolby Sound effects and a professional BOX speaker.

The company failed to reveal the pricing and availability information of the ZTE Grand S II though.
