Pantech is a company few of you care about, but to me they matter. Apparently they matter to Samsung too since the Korean giant purchased a 10% stake in Pantech back in May. So with that in mind, the news: Pantech will be announcing a new flagship phone in South Korea on August 5th. According to DDaily, it’ll have a 5.6 inch 1080p screen and it’ll use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800.
Will this phone be sold outside of Korea? Nope, but expect “other” devices makers to be “inspired” by whatever new features and do-hickeys Pantech unveils to the world next week.
Update: Two very low resolution photos have leaked.
