Mods to increase the loudness of the speaker and the headphones are extremely common for Android devices nowadays. Previously, we have seen such a mod surface for the HTC One M8, the Galaxy S5 and the Xperia Z2. Joining this list today is LG’s latest flagship — the G3 — which already comes with a pretty loud 1-watt rear facing speaker.
The developer of this mod, spiderio, has not posted the modified audio files so that G3 owners could simply install the mod. Instead, he has posted a tutorial so that users can increase the audio levels only to their liking. The steps are actually pretty simple and only require users to change a few values using a text editing app.
Editing the file, however, does require root access, which might be a bummer for many. Also, don’t increase the value beyond 92 as it may lead to the sound getting distorted heavily.
Keep in mind that you can only increase the headphone output volume and leave the speaker volume level untouched if you want to as well. Simply change the values under the headphones name for this.
Head over to this XDA thread for a step-by-step guide on how to increase the speaker and headphone volume output of your G3.
